This week on Facebook Live, I announced that we’re changing our schedule to every 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month from now on. It was good to have Thor back last week and this week, as he was tied up at work the previous 2 weeks. Unfortunately, I’ve got a rough throat and chest again, but I hope it didn’t spoil the performance too much! Anyway, the songs we played for you this week were – 1. Strange Sounds from the Wreckage – 2. A Form of Air – 3. Thirty Degrees – 4. It’s Your Fault – 5. The Burning Tree. By the way, the last 2 sessions are still up on the Shem Sharples Music page
Another thing about Facebook Live, is that I’m going to start some spontaneous Facebook Live moments to share with you every now and then, so watch out for those – especially while I’m recording on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons…. but then I might pop up in your feed anytime…..
The new album progress
The new album is still moving along gradually. I’m working on drums and percussion at the moment, and for the next couple of weeks. I spent this week concentrating on djembe and tablas. It’s all beginning to sound great now and its progress is strong and steady rolling. I’ve decided the album title is going to be ‘Strange Sounds from the Wreckage’, like I mentioned a while ago (see here) – that seems like the best title I’ve got at the moment. I think it has an element of mystery and intrigue, which I like. I posted the track list a couple of weeks ago – you can read the track list here.
A new video being planned
I’m also brainstorming ideas for a new music video. I’ll be working on the song, Reaching Out, over the next few weeks. It’s early days on that at the mo’ – it’s still very much in the planning stage. If you have any ideas for it, then please let me know about them. I’m always open to suggestions.
So that’s all I have for you this week. I’ll come up with something different for you next week. I’ll see you here again on Friday 19th.
